Joyful Jewel: Anniversary Weekend!

More special events TBA October 11, 2-3:30 p.m.: Patty Cole readers from her new poetry book A Way I Sing at the Joyful Jewel.  Patty Cole grew up in West Virginia on the Ohio River and now calls North Carolina her home for the last 20 years. She’s now a hobby farmer and raises chickens and goats with her husband, Hoyt. She was introduced to poetry in college where she studied English and French at West Virginia State University. Cole is widely published in journals and anthologies. To her credit are awards from the Fields of Earth Poetry Contest and the North Carolina Poetry Society. Of her book, Cole says it has been a journey of discovery and understanding. She hopes you will enjoy reading these poems as much as she enjoyed writing.

Mark, Adrian King, and new apprentice, Hamish Jackson, have made a variety of several less typical pots this cycle – casseroles, triangular vases, rectangular dishes, narrow neck vases and wall waves – as well as the usual lovely barrel and straight mugs, plates, bowls (including ice cream bowls), jars, pitchers, tumblers, big pots, little pots, and everything in between!
