Visit downtown Pittsboro for a month of family-friendly holiday celebrations! Special events happening November 20 – December 17. Check our full event calendar for even more Tree Lighting Celebration Sunday, November 20, 4-6 p.m. An old-fashioned Christmas celebration featuring school choirs, carolers, Santa Claus, shopping, and more. Festivities culminate with the lighting of a 18-foot Christmas tree at the historic Chatham County Courthouse. Businesses are hosting special events all day. Santa visitation starts at 3:30! Don’t forget to bring your camera/camera phones. Small Business Saturday Saturday, November 26, all day Come shop small and support locally-owned and grown businesses! Special events happening throughout town.  Free gift wrapping for items purchased in Downtown Pittsboro – 10:00am – 4:00pm at Realty World, 73 Hillsboro Street. First Sunday Artisan Fair Sunday, December 4, 12-5 p.m. An artisan market featuring crafts, music, and food. Shops, restaurants and the Historical Museum host special events. Pittsboro Christmas Parade Sunday, December 11, 3 p.m. Marching bands, dancers, holiday revelers, and Santa Claus parade through downtown in this annual tradition. Brought to you by the Town of Pittsboro. Miracle on Hillsboro Street Saturday, December 17, 2 p.m. & 6 p.m. See the trial of the century on Saturday, December 17th at the historic Chatham County Courthouse, where Santa Claus is on trial. Enjoy audience participation, local actors and the real Kris Kringle! Come root for a Miracle on Hillsboro Street! Performances will be at 2pm & 6pm. Admission is a $5 donation to benefit Chatham County Partnership for Children, or give five non-perishable food items to benefit CORA Food Pantry. Children under 6 are free. Seating is limited, so advanced ticket purchase is encouraged. Vendors Food trucks, beverage, craft and retail vendor tables will be located along Hillsboro Street. Yum! Food and Drink 8 a.m. Chatham Marketplace, a deli serving breakfast and lunch, including pre-packaged food and sushi 9 a.m. Cafe Diem a coffee and tea house opens 10 a.m. Carolina Brewery opens for brunch and lunch kick off 10 a.m. Pittsboro Roadhouse opens for brunch and lunch Music 12-2 p.m. Gregory Blaine at Pittsboro Roadhouse 1-3 p.m. The Oblation on the outside stage 2-4 p.m. Josh Jones at Liquidambar Gallery and Gifts 3-4 p.m. Bad Wolf on the outside stage 3-5 p.m. Eddy Davis at The Joyful Jewel Artist Openings Joyful Jewel: Featured artist reception: Sharon Blessum’s new work “Stone Speak” will be unveiled 12-5 p.m. Eddy Davis brings live music from 3-4 p.m. Liquidambar Gallery: Featured artist reception: Children’s Activities The kids’ play area, sponsored by Pittsboro United Methodist Church, is located in the Pittsboro Roadhouse parking lot.
