  • BOARD Candidates: If you’d like to be a candidate for PBA Board membership, please email Pam Fulk and let her know by Friday, Oct. 7th.
  • Pam has the names of those who have already let her know they’re interested.
  • Candidates, Pam will be emailing you a couple of questions to respond to about why you’d like to be on the Board. The information you provide will be provided to the membership at election time.

Holly Days

  • There will be multiple opportunities for you and your business to take advantage of the holiday season events downtown.
  • Tree Lighting will be Sunday, Nov. 20 (Sunday before Thanksgiving.)
  • Small Business Saturday, November 26. If you have time to staff the gift wrapping station, stay tuned for the sign up.
  • December First Sunday, December 4th
  • Christmas Parade, Sunday, December 11 at 3 pm. If you’d like to participate in the Parade, please contact Carrie Bailey at Pittsboro Town Hall.
  • Make your business plans now to take advantage of the events! If you’re store isn’t open, you can’t take advantage of the foot traffic.

Member Updates

  • Greg Lewis from The Sycamore at Chatham Mills has Jazz Night Wednesdays from 6-9 pm, OctoBEER Oct. 20th beer class at 6 pm, sign up on the website, and Thursdays $10 Lounge Menu every Thursday!
  • Jennie Knowlton of the Quiltmakers Cafe will have their first dinner at The Plant Sunday, Oct. 16, at 5 pm for a Pay-What-You-Can Community Feast!
  • Visit the Chatham Historic Museum on Sunday, October 9th at 2 pm to hear Ernest Dollar, Director of the Raleigh Musuem, talk about his new book: Hearts Torn Asunder which explores the psychological experience of soldiers and civilians during the chaotic closing weeks of the Civil War.
  • Tiana Thurber at wonderful Reclamation joined us and invited everyone to their next event: Bazaar Night Market at the The Plant, Oct 28 from 4 to 9 pm. Join us!
  • Melissa Crane and Lucinda Poole from Chatham Magazine/Triangle Media said the Best Of Chatham issue is OUT! Pick up your copy or go on-line and see what businesses were voted BEST of Chatham! If you have an idea for a story or want to advertise, contact Melissa!
  • Phillip from the Chatham Small Business Center reminded us to talk to him about education needs as he’s doing the spring programming schedule.
  • Ann Fits from the Chatham County Economic Development Center talked about Wolfspeed the chip manufacturer coming to Siler City.
  • John Crowell, NY Life, with his office at Main Street Station, Pittsboro, talked about his efforts to recognize Veterans Day at the Pittsboro VFW at 11 am on Nov. 11th and Vets to Vets and Mission 22. Talk to John to learn more.
  • Pam Fulk talked about Welcome Chatham which is funding the Welcome Center on Hillsboro Street. There are ways to advertise your business and events at the Welcome Center. Contact either Pam or Maria Parker-Lewis.
  • Karen Tiede from Red Tuxedo reminded everyone to make sure she gets member updates so she can put them on the shoppitsboro.com website!
