Arrr! Avast ye matey! There be somethin’ off the port side bow…its…its Fair Game’s 1st Annual Pirate Bash! On September 19th, in celebration of National Talk Like A Pirate Day and great reasons to drink, we’ll be unfurling the sails and setting off to the land of treasure hunts, delicious food trucks, and barrels upon barrels of grog (just to clarify, “grog” means the good stuff!) We’ll be throwing down from 5-10pm, with live music featuring the rowdy Tan & Sober Gentlemen and The Affectionates. They’ll have you dancing all night till we’re talking like pirates and scallywags for the rest of the year! $10 advance/$12 day of. You can get your tickets here!

Come hungry, because we’ll be letting you whip up your own brand of crazy with a free (free!) build-your-own taco bar, plus we’ll be selling delicious summertime libations to quench your thirst. Remember those beer taps we got last month? Yep, they’re still pouring fresh draft beer, plus we’ll have the wine cocktails you know and love us for.

Fifth Sunday Gospel & Lunch New Era Gospel Choir (Chatham County) 2-4 p.m. BreakFAST & Beyond 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. A Note From The Owner Almost 10 years ago, Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast weakening the levees in New Orleans. We all know the history and stories that followed. I am a New Orleans native and have lived in Chatham County, NC for 25 years. All of my family lived in New Orleans when Katrina hit. They evacuated, as always, when a bad storm heads that direction. When they knew there was no home to go to they turned to Ray and I for safe shelter. This community opened their arms to 12 family members and 6 pets. The N&O wrote an article about my family on Monday, September 5, 2005 in the City & State section. Since that time all have returned and some have passed on. They did not and will never give up on the city of New Orleans. Lives have changed. Most are living in different homes. The reality of the devastation is still vivid in their minds and on the city streets. In commemorating the “Rebirth of New Orleans” our shop unWINEd will celebrate the 10th anniversary of Katrina with music and food on August 29th and 30th. Attached you will find a flyer with the details. We would like to share this event with the media so those that have relocated to our area would be aware of the celebration. Bulltown Strutters (Durham) New Orleans-Style Parade Band 8:00 to 10:30 p.m. The Durham-based Bulltown Strutters bring the party and shift it into high gear with their raucous mix of old-school New Orleans classics and new-school New Orleans funk, powered by a massive horn section. Join us for a Second Line!!! Parlez-Vous Crepe (Pittsboro) Owners Jody and Tom Argote were born and raised New Orleanians Delicious, made-to-order savory and sweet crêpes. They specialize in creating seasonal fillings using local, sustainable ingredients, and are always developing new ones. Perhaps they will develop a “Rebirth” crepe!
